Sadly, Zanzibar's famous international music festival 'Sauti Za Busara' that is being conducted February each year and for the past 13 years is not going to be available this year due to shortage of funding.
The Busara promotion management is now seeking to secure partnership with both private and public sectors to secure the future of the 14th celebrations of the festival that is expected to be hosted next year 2017 from 9th to 12th February.
The festival is expected to include Carnival Parade and Roadshow through Zanzibar town, Live Stage that will feature 400 artists full mzuka performances that is 100% live, Swahili encounters where the visiting artists integrate with the local artist to create sensational collaborations, Busara Extra to display fringe event across the island and movers and shakers where the visiting and the local industry professionals meet to create network.
Part from just being a cultural identity Sauti za Busara have contributed to various aspect, including provision of training and professionalism for East Africa's creative industry , boost economy, embracing human rights and freedom of expression etc. this help everyone to understand that this event is more than just entertainment, it needs to continue growing to keep the best go on.
